Hey! How's it going?
My name is Leo Laughlin. I am a 21 year old game developer that enjoys creating unique and immersive games of all art styles and genres. Ever since I was a child, I have been infatuated with video games. Film and music were always second choices for me, as video games allowed me to interact with the story and make me feel apart of the world instead of just simply being a viewer. Over many years, I would explore a variety of amazing games that would not only reward me with a meaningful and emotional experience, but also teach me life lessons that I follow to this day. Life is Strange (2015), Bioshock Infinite (2013) and the Batman: Arkham Series (2009, 2011, 2015) are only a few of many notable games that have significantly impacted my life and encouraged me to pursue a career in game development.
I have been studying a Bachelor degree in Game Development (Game Design) at SAE Institute Melbourne since 2021. Prior to this, I completed part of a Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology during my VCE years. I have expanded my software capabilities over the years, not only in game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity, but also in audio middleware and asset production. I have exceptional modelling and texturing skills using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Substance 3D Painter consecutively, as well as being able to use FMOD for adaptive 2D/3D audio and music for Unreal Engine. I also have extensive experience with video editing and graphic design using Adobe After Effects.
